Introducing Beautycounter

I am so excited to introduce Beautycounter to you! As most of you know, I Love everything beauty, I constantly am on the hunt for new exciting things to try. One day I was invited to a party on Instagram for "Clean Makeup" I don’t have a lot of free time but after putting my kids to bed I thought “why not?" so I went to check it out. Usually clean/natural makeup never lives up to my expectations, but I am SO glad I attended. After mingling with some of their educated consultants, and watching the gorgeous makeup applications being done I was eager to get my hands on it. I was surprised to find out that Beautycounter did not only carry make-up, they have a whole line of skin, bath, and body care.
One extra perk of the event was I was introduced to Nicole Brockman. She is the is the founder of “One of a Kind Beauty”, which provides on site hair and makeup for weddings, special events and photoshoots, and she recently joined our team as one of our Stylists! Nicole is definitely a makeup expert and uses Beautycounter on all of her Brides. So having her join our team gave me the chance to pick her brain on Beautycounter.
After my second introduction to the line and really learning what Beautycounter was all about, I knew I wanted to be a part of it. I was inspired by the flawless applications initially but their mission was like none other in our industry and made me even more excited about joining their team.
Beautycounter’s Goal:
“to get safer products into the hands of everyone. Formulate, advocate, & educate—that’s our motto for creating products that truly perform while holding ourselves to unparalleled standards of safety. Why? It’s really this simple: beauty should be good for you.”
They are creating and distributing safer, high-performing products; educating the public about how to avoid harmful ingredients and urging the government to pass laws to better regulate the beauty industry. Since choosing the Beauty Industry as my profession, it was surprising to me how much digging it took to truly understand how toxic products can be. Our skin is a living organism, so it has always been my hope that we can find skincare and makeup that will perform, and be less toxic.
Beautycounter is committed to safety standards and is going way beyond
what is legally required in the United States. Beautycounter has banned 1,500 questionable or harmful chemicals (they call this their “Never List”). This includes the over 1,400 chemicals banned or restricted in personal care products by the European Union, plus additional chemicals screened by Beautycounter and found to be a concern. While the U.S government has taken action they have banned only 30 big offender ingredients.
Parlour at the Point has decided to carry the makeup line, and a variety of their skincare. I cannot wait to give everyone a chance to try it. Since this is mainly an online company I purchased all of the top favorites for you to sample in the salon. Before I wanted to invest in this line, the main question I had for Beautycounter was “what does safer really mean?’. They created a “5-Step Ingredient Selection Process” which is how they developed their “Never List”.
Beautycounter is constantly reviewing emerging data and occasionally commissioning their own studies when they are not able to gather enough information on a particular chemical. In addition, the connection between safer and natural ingredients is something they explore and discuss with suppliers and clients. In short, natural ingredients are not necessarily safer, and synthetic ingredients aren’t necessarily harmful.
The goal is to create products using natural and synthetic ingredients that do not compromise health or safety. They DO NOT TEST ON ANIMALS which we love. Beautycounter is a proud Certified B Corporation. The B stands for Benefits, which means that, unlike the traditional corporation’s structure, they consider people, the planet, and profits. They use the power of business to help solve social environmental problems by voluntarily meeting standards of transparency, accountability, and performance. Becoming a B corporation is a difficult accomplishment.
Beautycounter is strong in their advocacy efforts. They openly share policy positions, and upcoming actions, they have decided to be forthright and outspoken. Helping people like me really understand what we are up against.

I am loving their cleansing balm- It is a nourishing daily cleanser, that will easily melt off makeup, and deeply replenishes. Packed with amazing essential oils, and vitamin C, it will allow you to cleanse without stripping. Simply massage an almond size amount into skin, it will break down oils, dirt, and impurities. Then add water to easily wipe everything away. It will leave your skin cleansed and hydrated at the same time. You can also use it as an overnight mask.
You can’t go wrong with their Countersun Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 30- This water-resistant sunscreen goes on smoothly and absorbs easily leaving the skin feeling nourished and without that white residue. Formulated with Non-Nano zinc, and California Poppy. It is Reef Friendly, and it’s water resistant for up to 40 minutes.
Next is the Charcoal Bar- Great for oily prone skin, it will detoxify and absorb impurities in your skin without drying it out. Made with Japanese binchotan charcoal, green tea, and organic coconut oil. Gentle enough to use daily. (Also great for men.)
